At just 15 years old, Johnie Stamps is already proving himself as one of the top young karting drivers in the country, earning multiple wins and championships while competing against the best in his class.

What sets him apart goes beyond speed. As a student actively pursuing engineering, he approaches racing through both performance and understanding, analyzing each lap, refining technique, and constantly looking for ways to improve.

For him, racing is more than competition, it is applied science. Every adjustment to the kart, whether it is tire pressure, chassis balance, or grip, directly impacts how the kart behaves on track. He is learning not just how to drive fast, but how to understand and influence performance through precise, calculated changes.

Each session becomes an experiment, testing, learning, and improving in real time.

What makes his journey even more unique is that he is a first generation racer, coming from a family with no background in motorsports and competing without the advantages of a traditional racing pipeline. Despite this, he continues to perform at a high level, proving that talent, discipline, and determination can compete with experience and funding.

His journey is powered by a deeply committed family that has made significant sacrifices to support his development, prioritizing his racing career through time, resources, and unwavering belief in his potential.

That journey began at just five years old during a visit to a local indoor karting facility. After his first time on track, he turned and said, “Dad, I want to race against people my age.”

From that moment on, what started as curiosity quickly became a shared pursuit. With no established roadmap, his family began building the journey from the ground up, learning, investing, and growing alongside him every step of the way.

Today, that same commitment continues to fuel his progress as he balances school, engineering studies, and the demands of high level competition.

In partnership with Bnevo, a nonprofit focused on expanding access and opportunity, his journey extends beyond racing, connecting motorsports with STEM education, community engagement, and inspiration for the next generation.

In a sport where diversity is limited, he is also part of a new generation of African American drivers helping redefine what the future of motorsports looks like.

As he prepares to take the next step from karting into car racing, a critical stage that requires significantly greater resources, the opportunity exists for partners to join early in a high potential journey, one built on performance, purpose, and long term impact.
